A New Chapter for the Scouts Canada x Home Baker Partnership

Since the beginning, at Home Baker, we've known the greatest memories from childhood come not from the screens in front of us.

They're created when kids get dirty, explore something new, and excitedly shout, "Hey, look what I did!"

And that's what makes our partnership with Scouts Canada so easy.

Scouting inspires you to ask questions, try new things, solve problems, work as a team and learn by doing. At Home Baker, we're taking that spirit into the kitchen.

So far, we have shared some fun baking ideas with our families from our partnership, the Scouts Sip 'n' Crunch Cookie Cup, Scoutrees Earth Day Planet Pops and the Volcano Chocolate Cake with Lava Fizz.

Now, we're heading somewhere completely different.

Deep in the woods, where a very hungry bear is waiting for his donuts!

Get to know the Woodland Bear Donuts Baking Kit

Picture this.

Saturday afternoon. The children are bored. You've already been asked four times for the tablet.

But today, there's a mystery to solve.

In a forest deep within the woods, a hungry bear needs your help. Woodland creatures have left clues, the woods are full of puzzles and there's just one way to finish the mission.

Bake some delicious bear donuts!

The Scouts Woodland Bear Donuts Baking Kit takes a flat sheet of dough and introduces you to a new adventure; Into the Forest.

Children can create their very own homemade donuts, decorate them with drippy dark chocolate icing, and turn their treats into cute little woodland bears with tiny ears, big eyes, and expressive faces.

But wait, there's more, even after your dozen (or two) of warm, tasty donuts are baked off.

A whole forest of learning awaits you!

What's in the Woodland Bear Donuts Kit?

This kids baking kit is filled with fun supplies to help you turn an ordinary afternoon into a delicious woodland adventure.

Each kit contains:

All of the ingredients needed to make the donut recipe included and hand for a fun baking experience.

Chocolate Glaze: Because every other grizzly in the woods needs chocolate!

Donut Baking Mold: This bakers mould will let your little baker create donuts in perfect shape and size.

Simple directions that will help along the way.

Into the Forest Activity Booklet: Discover the forest! Search for animal tracks and explore with all sorts of puzzles and games.

Junior Woodland Ranger Certificate: A badge of honour for finishing the adventure!

See if the recipe calls for any fresh ingredients that you need from home.

It's a little baking kit, it's a little crafty activity, and it's a little bit of woodland fun all rolled into one very fun afternoon!

More Than Donuts: PLAY-BASED LEARNING

Here's what makes this baking kit from Scouts Canada, unique.

Kids aren't just following a recipe. They're venturing out, experimenting, and discovering.

These Little Bakers Are Now Confident Makers

Kids learn to measure, stir, mix, pour and decorate, which they can then practice in their everyday activities.

They learn to follow directions, take turns, and stick with an activity until completion.

And nothing beats the thrill of seeing your creation come to life in the oven!

A Woodland Adventure To Further Spark Curiosity

The Into the Forest activity booklet includes activities on woodland animals, animal tracks, nature puzzles, and creative challenges.

It's a great way to promote an interest in the natural world, even when it's too chilly out there to explore.

Creativity With a Delicious Ending

Will you give your bear giant chocolate ears? A goofy face? An extra-thick layer of chocolate?

There's plenty of room for personality.

Decorating allows children to be creative and make something truly their own.

Teamwork That Doesn't Feel Like Work

If children are baking with parents, grandparents, brothers or sisters or other Scouts it builds possibilities for working together and collaborative problem-solving.

One person: stir. Another: make the molds. A third: act as the official chocolate-glaze tester.

And everyone gets to enjoy the results.

Best No Screen Activity for Kids

We know the struggle.

It's pouring outside. The kids are bored. Your games in the house are done, and another hour of screen time doesn't seem very appealing.

Introducing the Woodland Bear Donuts Kit.

A better adventure. Instead of witnessing their peers on an adventure, kids get to make their own.

Whether it's making their donuts, decorating woodland bears or piecing together a puzzle there's something to do every day.

Bakeshop Fun! For a family fun day at home on a rainy day, weekend activity, school holidays, during a playdate or family baking afternoon.

And unlike a typical activity, this one has dessert!

Perfect for Scouts, Cubs, Beaver Scouts and Young Explorers

We love the fact that this collaboration really "feels" like Scouting.

The Woodland Bear Donuts Kit combines DIY baking, creativity, critical thinking, and adventure.

It's particularly well suited for:

Scouts and youth groups: a fun baking project and woodland activity.

Family activity nights: A fun way to spend time together.

An experience you can do, not just give.

Adventures for a rainy day:Entertainment that's indoors but not on a screen.

Playdates and Group Activities: a hands-on activity friends can do together.

So that kids are not worried, they can enjoy but an adult can help follow the cooking method and the hot oven.

It's not about making awesome donuts. It's about empowering the kids to make their own.

Why Experience-Based Gifts Are So Special

Honestly, every kid already has plenty of toys.

What they do not always have is a gift that enables them to get away and go on an adventure, create something for themselves, and spend quality time with the people they love.

This is exactly why activity kits for kids are the ideal gift!

Woodland Bear Donuts Kit is not your typical birthday present.

It's the joy of unboxing, the thrill of baking, the pride of decorating a woodland feature all by yourself and the reward of a woodland challenge.

It's an experience with a delicious ending.
